Plymouth, Indiana (Saturday, June 26th, 2010): After pre-race ceremonies the field starts to roll for the running of the Sunoco 100, the #8 of Eddie Hoffman would elect to pit to change a shock on the Lisa Thomas Salon Ford, relegating him to the back of the field. At the drop of the green Jared Marks and Brian would lead the field into turn number one and Ross would take the lead on the back stretch to lead lap one.
Ross would pull out to a half straight away lead before the first caution would fly for the spinning car of Jordan Sims. On the restart Ross would once again build a comfortable lead, but Hoffman was charging through the field from his last place starting spot and Campbell and Pyle were also chasing down Ross. The field would once again be slowed by a single car spin. On the restart Campbell would be on the rear bumper of Ross, followed by Hoffman and Pyle.
This time Campbell would not let Ross get away, the two would race side by side for the next ten laps before Campbell would take over the lead, both Hoffman and Pyle would follow. The final caution of the night would fly with just twelve laps to go, setting up an epic battle between Campbell, Hoffman and Pyle.
When the green flag waved for the final time, Campbell tried his best to put some distance between himself and the field. Pyle and Hoffman would battle hard for second, with the laps dwindling, Hoffman would get to back bumper of Campbell with two laps to go, he would make contact with Campbell sending him up the track, both Hoffman and Pyle would get by Campbell. Hoffman would take the white flag from starter Tom Powell and seemed to be on him way to victory.
Pyle had other thoughts, on the back stretch Pyle would close in on Hoffman, coming out of turn four coming to the checkered flag Pyle would make contact with Hoffman, sending him spinning down the front stretch, Campbell would go low to avoid both Pyle and Hoffman but would get hit in the right side door by Hoffman send him spinning around. In what can only be described a wild finish a spinning Campbell would beat Hoffman to the finish line and the heavily damaged Hoffman would beat Pyle to the line by mere inches.

AR Bodies Qualifying is under way with the #8 Eddie Hoffman the first to establish the ASA Late Model Series track record at Plymouth with a 13.535 but it wouldn’t stand for long as the third car out that of #4 Erik Jones would go a 13.455 who would be beat by Jesse Saunders and Brian Campbell just moments later. Campbell’s fast 13.392 looked good as it was the fasted time turned all day and the first to break into the 13.3’s. The young Canadian of Jordan Sims had other ideas as he went an outstanding 13.374 to hold the provisional pole. Sims would hang on to pole until with just a few cars were left, then Robbie Pyle, who had been quite all day turned what is now the new ASA Late Model Series track record of 13.327. Congratulations to Robbie Pyle and crew on picking up AR Bodies fast qualifier award here at Plymouth Speedway. Pyle would then draw a 10 for the invert putting young Jared Marks and local favorite Brian Ross on the front row.

Following a quick 30 minute break the ASA Late Models were back on the track for their final practice session of the day. Campbell would quickly jump to top of the charts and hold of the rest to keep that top spot in the last session before qualifying, he was followed by Toledo winner Jesse Saunders, Hoffman, Dassow and Jordan Sims.

A strong field of cars is hand for tonight’s running of the inaugural Sunoco 100 at Plymouth Speedway. It’s the first ever event that the ASA Late Model Series has held at the .375 mile speedway. The field includes 2009 Champion Brian Campbell, 2008 Champion Eddie Hoffman, multi time winner Robbie Pyle and local veteran Brian Ross.
The ASA Late Models would take to the track in the first practice session, with youngster Erik Jones setting the early pace with a lap of 13.528, followed closely by Campbell, Jared Marks, Brian Ross and Trevor Dassow.
